Concert Review: Power 105.1’s Powerhouse 2014 at Barclays Center

New York’s Hip-Hop and R&B radio station Power 105.1 sold out the Barclays Center on Thursday night for Powerhouse 2014. The packed venue was ready to party with the best in Hip-Hop and R&B.

First to take the stage was Atlanta hip-hop rap group Migos. They got the crowd amped performing their hits “Versace,” “Handsome and Wealthy,” “Hannah Montana” and “Fight Night.”

Next taking the stage was California singer Tinashe. Her set included her latest hit “Pretend” and a dance filled performance of the hit “2 On.”

Rapper Childish Gambino kicked off his set with ‘Because Of The Internet’ single “Sweatpants” before performing ‘STN MTN’ mixtape track “U Don’t Have To Call” acapella. Gambino closed his set performing his hit “3005.”

California rapper Kid Ink started his set with the hit “Show Me”
before performing “Bad Ass.” He was then joined onstage by singer
Tinashe for the performance of “Body Language.” Kid Ink closed his set
performing his hit “Main Chick.”

Brooklyn’s own Bobby Shmurda hit
the stage with his GS9 crew performing “Computers.” He then performed
“Bobby B*tch” before getting the sold out crowd doing the Shmoney Dance
during the hit “Hot N*gga.”

Next up was Bronx rapper French
Montana who started by performing “Paranoid” and “Work” before having
Coke Boys member Chinx perform his hit “Couple N*ggas.” French Montana’s
set also included hits “Marble Floors,” “Ocho Cinco” and “Pop That.”
His second special guest was rapper Remy Ma. She performed “Whuteva” and
her verse from “Lean Back. ” French Montana closed his set performing
“Ain’t Worried About Nothin” and his latest single “Don’t Panic.”

Atlanta
rapper T.I. begin by performing hits “Top Back” and “24’s.” He then had
special guest rapper Dej Loaf perform her hit “Try Me.” T.I. also
performed other hits like “U Don’t Know Me,” “Whatever You Like” and “No
Mediocre.” He closed his set performing “What You Know” and his latest
hit “About The Money.”

R&B singer and dancer Ne-Yo hit the
stage performing his hit “Miss Independent” before performing his verses
from hit songs “Knock You Down” and “Make Me Better.” He performed “So
Sick” before having female backup dancers dance alongside him for “Sexy
Love” and his latest single “She Knows.” Ne-Yo closed his set singing
and dancing to the hit “Closer.”

North Carolina rapper J. Cole
started by playing his Michael Brown tribute song “Be Free” while
showing a video on police brutality in America. Once onstage J. Cole
started performing “Enchanted” from his ‘Friday Night Lights’ mixtape.
His set also included hits like “Nobody’s Perfect,” “Workout” and “She
Knows.” J. Cole was then joined onstage by rapper Bas, who is signed to
J. Cole’s Dreamville Records, to perform “My N*gga Just Made Bail.” He
performed “Can’t Get Enough”and “Crooked Smile” before closing his set
with his hit song “Power Trip.”

Next on stage was Virginia R&B
singer Trey Songz. He started his set with hits “Bottoms Up” and
“Foreign. ” His set also included “All We Do,” “Dive In” and “Touchin,
Lovin.” Trey Songz set closed with his hit “Nana.”

Immediately
following Trey Songz, Virginia R&B singer and dancer Chris Brown
took the stage. His set started off with “X” from his latest album of
the same name. Chris Brown’s set also included dance filled performances
of hits “Strip,” “Poppin” and “New Flame.” His set closed dancing to
his hit song “Loyal” before singing part of “No Bullsh*t” acapella.

Screams
from the capacity crowd hit an all-time high as Trey Songz then joined
Chris Brown onstage for a special performance of their remix of
iLoveMakonnen’s song “Tuesday” and closed their joint set performing
Chris Brown’s song “Songs On 12 Play” featuring Trey Songz.

Last taking the stage was Atlanta rapper Young Jeezy.
He kicked off his set with hits “Put On” and “Lose My Mind.” His set
also included hits like “SupaFreak,” “Dem Boyz,” “I Do” and “Soul
Survivor.” Young Jeezy then closed his set with his hits “Go Getta,” “I
Luv It” and “Dey Know” before surprising the crowd by being joined
onstage by rapper Jay Z for his hit song “Seen It All.”

Power
105.1’s Powerhouse 2014 was a memorable star-studded night. From the
lineup to the special guests, the sold out crowd truly experienced the
hottest in Hip-Hop and R&B.
